Helena Hartmann, Visual Artist and Performer

Helena Hartmann (Ahaus, 1985) is a Visual Artist and Performer and who studied at the AKI (Academy of Art and Design) in the Netherlands (BFA Sculpture with First-Class Honours) and the Royal College of Art in London (MA Sculpture). She recently awarded the 3-year Antonie-Leins-Residency-Scholarship for the "Künstlerhaus Horb" in Southern Germany and will move to Horb in Spring 2019. 

Beside that she worked as an assistant prop maker at the prestigious “Thalia Theatre Hamburg” in 2004/2005 and was trained as a classical singer by Swedish soprano Louise Werner from 2003 until 2013.

Helena lives and works in Germany and Holland and exhibited, performed and resided in Germany, Scandinavia, UK, USA, Dubai, Spain, Portugal, Latvia and The Netherlands.

She received the German DAAD Award in 2014/2015 and was nominated for the New Jersey Sculpture Award in 2010. Helena Hartmann is teaching Freestyle Drawing, Manga-Drawing and Painting at the Community College and is regularly providing Art/Sculpture/Performance Classes and Workshops for Schools in Germany and abroad. She realized the Social Art-Project PARSOL (Participation of Refugees in Social Life) in Lousa-Portugal in mid-October 2017.

Helena often expands her sculptural works with a potpourri of Spoken Word, Sound, Movement and Imagery refined with a touch of Drama and Humor. 
Her Art is “Playful-Absurd-Bizarre-Hilarious-Wild and Experimental”!
